This is a poem I commissioned Rachel to write for me over the summer.
My name isn't a bad one
Not embarrassing or obscene
But when people always say it
It seems they never mean me.
My name means a creature
Who always follows the crowd
Soft, and calm, and quiet
I am nothing like my name
For sure, without a doubt.
My name I feel I must defy
Yet it is something I don't dare change
I'm already nothing like my name
But will I always be that way?
